The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is a federal-state partnership that works with the people of Appalachia and their Local Development Districts — like OMEGA — to create opportunities for self-sustaining economic development and improved quality of life.
ARC promotes regional strategies built on partnerships, progress, and prosperity. Since ARC’s inception in 1966, OMEGA has assisted in obtaining more than $75 million in ARC grant awards. That funding has, in turn, leveraged more than $140 million in additional investment across the region.
How OMEGA helps
OMEGA guides communities through the ARC application process, from pre-application through award and administration. Our staff work directly with local governments and organizations to identify eligible projects and assemble competitive applications.
